Housebuilder Lemuel Baker Sawyer (b.1802, d.1890) stayed and lived on the village road. It looks like this house was here as of the 1850 census. Lemuel passed the property to his son Charles (b.1878, d.1968). Charles married Josephine (Josie) Dunbar in 1907. They lived in the house until his death in 1968. Josie moved to Alabama at some point after that. The property passed to her daughter Mary (Sawyer) DeGraaf in 1980. They sold the property out of the family in 1982.
